Lost In Space is the Intergalactic love song on which Starkey marries his own distorted, lovelorn vocals with those of 17 year old UK singer Charli XCX. A bass driven, synth-drenched sci-fi utopia brimming with auto-tuned vocals and a dubstep inspired sound. Includes a neat and original radio mix, Starkey finely tempers his sound to a pop-ready format, a move which has undoubtedly worked well. The V.I.P mix reverts back to some sharpened drop dynamics and 808 programming. The remixes cover electrolined jack, slow-jamming electronics, a massively dubbed-out House number and skittered Juke and Footwork styles. Innerpartysystem break out the fun, providing a pumping remix with funky electro-house vibes; Om Unit goes deeper and psychedelic, and Darling Farah blends genres seamlessly with this super slick interpretation. US Native Kuhn rounds things of with a glitchy, beat-laden fidgety juke-esque version. |
